VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – A tragic series of events unfolded in Virginia Beach, beginning with a stabbing incident on the evening of August 14, 2024, and culminating in a fatal car crash the following morning.
Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) responded to reports of a stabbing at around 8:48 PM in the 900 block of Jay Are Court, finding two female victims, one adult and one juvenile, with multiple stab wounds.
The victims were promptly transported to local hospitals, where they are now listed in stable condition.
The incident is believed to be domestic-related, with Dana Plummer, 36, identified as the assailant. After the attack, Plummer reportedly fled the scene with his three children, triggering an Amber Alert issued by the Virginia State Police (VSP).
The next day, at approximately 8:46 AM, a citizen spotted Plummer’s vehicle, leading to a police pursuit that extended from Virginia into Maryland. The chase ended when Plummer lost control of his vehicle and crashed on I-495.
He was apprehended at the scene, but the crash tragically resulted in the death of his one-year-old daughter, who succumbed to her injuries after being transported to the hospital.
Plummer now faces charges including two counts of aggravated malicious wounding, three counts of parental abduction, four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and domestic assault.
