BALTIMORE, MD — A routine trip for gas and snacks turned into an extraordinary day for a Baltimore grandmother, who won a $100,000 top prize playing the $100,000 Ca$h scratch-off game.
The win occurred last week at Carroll Mart in Dundalk, where the Northeast Baltimore resident purchased the $30 scratch-off ticket. Eager to know the result, she scratched off the prize area in the store and was stunned to see the message confirming her $100,000 win.
Accompanied by her granddaughter, the winner discreetly left the store to avoid drawing attention. The winning ticket was later safely secured at home, and the grandmother claimed her prize at Lottery headquarters this week. She plans to use the winnings to pay bills, with further plans to be decided later.
Carroll Mart, the retailer where the ticket was purchased, will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. The $100,000 Ca$h scratch-off game, which launched in September 2023, still has 52 top prizes remaining, along with many other unclaimed prizes ranging from $30 to $5,000.
