MANASSAS, Va. — The search continues for Mamta Kafle, a 28-year-old mother from Manassas, who has been missing for nearly two weeks under suspicious circumstances.
Kafle was last seen on July 31 in Manassas Park and was reported missing by her husband on August 5. Authorities consider her disappearance involuntary and are actively investigating.
Members of the Nepali community, along with Kafle’s friends and colleagues, gathered on Monday night to call for her safe return and express their concern. Kafle is the mother of a baby less than a year old. Her husband, who stayed home to care for the child, expressed his deep concern over the phone, stating, “I’m very worried about her. She’s my baby’s mom. She’s my wife.”
Kafle is a nurse who has worked at INOVA hospitals and the UVA Health Prince William Medical Center. Her friend Sunita Basnt Thapa described her as energetic and eager to help others, saying, “She is there to help everybody out.”
Manassas Park Police report that Kafle has not contacted friends or family since July 31. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is urged to contact the police at 703-361-1136.
