NEW YORK, NY—A serious altercation led to a stabbing at the Randall’s Island Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Center on Sunday morning.
Police responded to a distress call around 10:33 a.m. from Field 82, where they discovered a 26-year-old man with a stab wound to the abdomen.
Authorities have yet to determine if the assailant, who fled the scene immediately after the incident, is an asylum seeker like the victim. The victim was promptly transported to Harlem Hospital, where he is expected to make a recovery.
Currently, no arrests have been made in connection to the stabbing. The suspect was last seen wearing all black. The police investigation into the incident continues, as they work to identify and locate the perpetrator.
