Breton’s making it clear that X needs to follow the DSA’s rules, especially given its status as a “Very Large Online Platform.” This includes protecting freedom of expression and media freedom while also making sure harmful content doesn’t spiral out of control.
Content Moderation: Breton’s really emphasizing that X has to be diligent in moderating content, particularly when it comes to illegal content, hate speech, and disinformation. He even mentions ongoing proceedings against X regarding the spread of illegal content and disinformation, which is pretty serious.
Potential Consequences: If X fails to comply with the DSA, the EU could take further action. Breton’s not messing around—he mentions that they could use their full “toolbox” of measures to protect EU citizens.
