At the age of 24, Jack passed away on June 22, 2025, leaving a legacy of inspiration, compassion, and unwavering devotion to the people he served.
Jack, who was born in Yoakum, Texas, on July 1, 2000, instilled his curiosity, humility, and contagious love of learning into everything he did. A proud graduate who opted to serve his home state, he established himself as a mainstay of the faculty at St. Dominic Savio Catholic School and was renowned for both his exceptional teaching abilities and his ability to establish a profoundly human connection with his students.
Jack received the school’s “Teacher of the Year” award in 2024, a recognition of his unwavering dedication to mentoring and education. Jack taught confidence, tenacity, and the love of learning more than numbers and formulas. His classroom was a welcoming, supportive, and educational environment.
Outside of his career, Jack had a strong commitment to the Shiner community. He used play as a potent means of fostering connections with both friends and students by sharing his love of strategy games. He was not only a role model for his students but also a very dependable friend and neighbor to many because of his kind heart and easygoing demeanor.
According to those closest to Jack, he was a real, compassionate, and energetic man who lived with heart. His loss is felt well beyond the school’s walls because of his unique and cherished gift of making others feel seen and appreciated.
On June 25, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner will celebrate a Vigil Mass. On June 29, 2025, family, friends, students, and coworkers will come together for a Mass of the Resurrection to commemorate the wonderful life that Jack lived.
