NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a robbery at the Myrtle Avenue and Central Avenue “M” train station. The incident occurred on Friday, July 26, 2024, at approximately 12:40 PM.
A 27-year-old female victim reported that while she was at the station, an unidentified male approached her from behind just as the train doors were closing.
The suspect swiftly snatched two chains from her neck and then fled the scene on foot. Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any injuries during the encounter.
The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants, white sneakers, and carrying a book bag.
The NYPD is urging anyone with information about the suspect or the incident to come forward to assist in the investigation. Tips can be provided anonymously, and community assistance is invaluable in addressing these public safety incidents.
