FAIR HAVEN, MICHIGAN — A heavy silence has fallen over the Anchor Bay community as students, educators, and families come together to mourn the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Logan Wilhelm, a beloved student at Anchor Bay High School. Logan’s unexpected passing has left a deep and painful void — one that words can barely begin to express — in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Described by many as bright, kind-hearted, and full of quiet strength, Logan was more than just a student — he was a friend, a classmate, a teammate, and a source of encouragement to many. His presence in the halls of Anchor Bay High was a comforting constant. Whether it was a casual hello, a helping hand, or a lighthearted joke to break the tension of the school day, Logan had a way of making others feel seen and supported.

The news of his death, which came as a devastating shock to the Fair Haven community, has sparked an outpouring of grief, love, and remembrance. Students and staff alike are struggling to process the reality of losing someone so young, so vibrant, and so full of potential.

“Logan was the kind of person who made everyone feel a little more at ease,” said one of his teachers. “He had this quiet maturity and a gentle way about him that made a real impact — not just in the classroom, but in our school community as a whole.”

At Anchor Bay High School, counselors and grief support teams have been made available to students as they navigate the pain of this tremendous loss. Teachers are sharing memories in hushed tones, while classmates are leaning on each other for comfort — some finding strength in silence, others in shared tears and memories.

Vigils are being planned by friends and student organizations who want to honor Logan’s life and legacy. Already, a growing memorial of flowers, photos, and handwritten notes has taken shape near the school entrance — a quiet but powerful symbol of how deeply he was loved. Many who knew him have taken to social media to share tributes, posting memories, photos, and reflections on what Logan meant to them.

“He was the kind of friend who never let you feel alone,” one classmate wrote. “Even on his worst days, he made sure everyone else was okay. That’s just who Logan was — selfless, kind, and full of heart.”

Outside of school, Logan was equally loved. Whether participating in local events, playing sports, or just spending time with friends and family, he brought a steady and uplifting energy wherever he went. His smile, his humor, and his gentle way of caring for others were unforgettable.

The Wilhelm family, while devastated, has expressed deep gratitude for the community’s love and support during this difficult time. They ask for privacy as they grieve and prepare to honor Logan’s life in a way that reflects his kind spirit and the love he gave so freely.

Plans for a public memorial service are currently underway and will be announced in the coming days. In the meantime, community members are encouraged to continue offering support, checking in on one another, and remembering that it’s okay to not be okay.

As Fair Haven comes to terms with this tragic loss, one thing is clear: Logan Wilhelm’s impact will never be forgotten. His time on this earth, though far too brief, was marked by love, kindness, and a quiet strength that touched everyone he encountered. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, empathy, and the reminder to always look out for one another — to be the kind of person Logan was every single day.

Rest in peace, Logan. Your light will forever shine in the hearts of all who knew you.
