GAITHERSBURG, MD — The Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division is actively investigating an armed robbery at a Shell gas station in Bethesda that took place on Tuesday, July 30. The incident, which occurred at 10200 Westlake Drive, prompted a swift response from the 2nd District officers around 11:33 p.m.
After entering the gas station to use the restroom, a male suspect threatened an employee with a knife, stole merchandise from behind the counter, and fled with the items in his backpack. The police have obtained a clear surveillance video of the suspect and are seeking assistance from the public to identify him.
The suspect is described as a Black male, around 26 years old, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a medium build and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black and camouflage cap, a black t-shirt, black pants, black tennis shoes, and carrying a black and camouflage backpack.
