NEW YORK, NY—The New York City Police Department is requesting public assistance to find a vehicle and its driver involved in a hit-and-run incident.
The incident occurred at the intersection of West 218 Street and Broadway on Monday. At around 12:45 PM, a 57-year-old woman was struck by a moped while walking. The driver, who was heading south on Broadway, fled the scene after the collision.
The victim was found unconscious and sustained a broken jaw. She was promptly attended to by Emergency Medical Services and taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem, where she is now in stable condition.
Authorities describe the suspect as a male with a dark complexion and slim build. He was last seen wearing a black skull cap, white tank top, black shorts, and black and red sneakers. The NYPD urges anyone with information to come forward to assist in locating the suspect.
