STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — In a bizarre twist to a trespassing incident, a Spotsylvania man, Tyjuan Dorsey, 19, was arrested for returning to a property in South Stafford while wearing a ski mask during extreme heat.
The incident occurred at Stonehaven Drive, where the heat index was reported to be nearing 108 degrees.
Deputy K.W. Suter of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office initially responded to a trespassing call at the location at 4:30 p.m., where Dorsey was first identified and asked to leave the apartment complex, which he did without incident. However, at 6:11 p.m., Deputy Suter received a report that Dorsey had returned, this time donning a ski mask despite the sweltering conditions.
Dorsey was arrested for trespassing and wearing a mask in public, a violation under Virginia law. He was taken to the Rappahannock Regional Jail and is being held on a $1,000 bond. The incident has raised eyebrows due to the unusual choice of attire given the weather conditions and the repeated defiance of trespassing warnings.
