NEW YORK, NY – A tragic shooting on Randall’s Island early Monday morning has led to the death of a woman and left two others injured, prompting the New York City Police Department to request public assistance in their ongoing investigation.
At approximately 3:30 AM on Monday, July 29, 2024, NYPD officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at Field 71 on Randall’s Island, within the 25th Precinct. Upon arrival, they found three victims with gunshot wounds. Sandra Serrano, a 44-year-old female from New York, suffered fatal injuries to her face and back and was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital.
The other two victims, a 32-year-old male with a throat injury and a 31-year-old female with a back injury, were also transported to Harlem Hospital and are currently in stable condition.
The NYPD is actively seeking any information related to this incident and encourages anyone who might know something to come forward. The department is committed to solving this case and ensuring the safety of the community.
