Fatal Springfield shooting death of Calvin Bell – Obituary
Calvin Bell, a 47-year-old resident of Springfield, lost his life after being shot in the 800 block of Stevenson Drive on March 8. Emergency responders transported him to HSHS St. John’s Hospital, where medical personnel pronounced him dead at 2:26 a.m.
An autopsy conducted later confirmed that Bell’s death resulted from a gunshot wound. Authorities, including the Sangamon County Coroner’s Office and the Springfield Police Department, continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
