Fatal Milwaukee shooting death of Jayden Greer and Daequan Stevens – Obituary
Authorities have identified two individuals who lost their lives in a shooting at Dineen Park in Milwaukee.
The tragic incident took place around 4:15 p.m. on Sunday near Appleton Avenue and Capitol Drive, just a short distance from a playground. Sixteen-year-old Jayden Greer was pronounced dead at the scene.
“My children enjoy visiting the park. We used to let them go alone, but that won’t be happening anymore,” said Deaudray McKinney, a local resident.
The second victim, 27-year-old Daequan Stevens, was discovered in an alley several blocks from the initial shooting site, according to reports. A 19-year-old man also sustained gunshot wounds but is expected to recover.
“This act of violence has deeply impacted our community. My thoughts are with the victims’ families as they navigate this difficult time,” stated Milwaukee County Supervisor Felesia Martin.
At this time, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and authorities continue their investigation.
