MILFORD, PIKE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — People in Pike County are getting ready for its Second Annual Saint Patrick’s Parade.
Organizers said last year’s parade was immensely popular and brought out around 3,000 people to the Milford Borough.
A local realtor, Jenny Gagnon, came up with the idea and, along with Milford Borough Council President Joseph Dooley, organized the event to celebrate Irish culture and heritage in the area.
“Having a parade like this brings our community together. Last year, like I said, we were shocked by the turnout, thousands of people that were here, and it was one of the biggest unifying events for our community in years,” Dooley explained.
The parade will be on Sunday at 2:00 p.m., starting at Ann Street Memorial Park and ending at Saint Patrick’s Church.
