Alicia Bowles, a 77-year-old woman from Mundelein, Illinois, tragically died after a house fire on March 2.
At approximately 5:24 p.m. that day, the Mundelein Police and Fire Departments responded to a fire at a two-story duplex on Huntington Drive. Upon extinguishing the flames, firefighters discovered Alicia Bowles, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy was conducted on March 3 by the Lake County Coroner’s Office, with preliminary results pending further tests, including toxicology to assess carbon monoxide levels.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Mundelein Police Department, the Mundelein Fire Department, and the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office.
