NEW YORK, NY – Commuters across New York City and New York State are facing various traffic conditions this Wednesday morning. Several incidents and delays are impacting travel on major routes.
As of 7:14 a.m., a downed tree is partially blocking the southbound lane of US 9W at Thunder Mountain Road in Tomkins Cove. At 8:10 a.m., a disabled vehicle on I-684 southbound, north of Exit 4 (NY 172 – Mount Kisco – Bedford), is blocking the right lane in Bedford.
At 8:04 a.m., a crash occurred on I-190 northbound after Exit N12 (I-190) – Hamilton St – Amherst St in Buffalo. Meanwhile, at 8:02 a.m., a disabled vehicle on the Taconic State Parkway northbound at Exit 43B (NY 82 Southbound) in East Fishkill is blocking the right shoulder. Additionally, at 7:56 a.m., a crash with property damage on the Taconic State Parkway northbound at Croton Reservoir Bridge in Yorktown is blocking the right shoulder.
In New York City, a disabled tractor trailer on I-95 southbound at East 174th Street is causing the closure of one left lane as of 7:56 a.m. At 7:52 a.m., a crash with injuries on US 6 eastbound at Bear Mountain Bridge in Stony Point is blocking the left lane. Further, at 7:51 a.m., a crash with injuries on Sprain Brook State Parkway northbound, north of Exit Grasslands Road (NY 100C) in Greenburgh, is blocking the left and center lanes.
Other incidents include a crash with property damage on NY 55 eastbound at 7:44 a.m., blocking the right shoulder. On the Taconic State Parkway southbound, south of Exit 47A (NY 55 Eastbound) in La Grange, a crash with property damage is blocking the right shoulder as of 7:43 a.m. At 7:42 a.m., a crash on the Northern State Parkway westbound at Exit 34 (Brush Hollow Road) in North Hempstead is causing the closure of one left lane.
At 7:38 a.m., a crash on I-87 southbound before Exit 10 (South Nyack, US 9W) in Orangetown is blocking two right and center lanes. Earlier, at 6:25 a.m., a disabled vehicle on I-495 eastbound between Exit 65 (Horseblock Road, CR 16) and Exit 66 (CR 101, Sills Road) in Brookhaven was blocking the right shoulder. Additionally, at 6:14 a.m., a disabled vehicle on I-495 westbound exiting at Exit 33 (Lakeville Road) in North Hempstead was blocking the right shoulder.
At 5:57 a.m., a disabled vehicle on the Northern State Parkway eastbound at Exit 27S (Shelter Rock Road) in North Hempstead closed the right shoulder. By 7:34 a.m., rubbernecking delays were reported on the Taconic State Parkway southbound between Exit 4 (NY 117) and Exit 2 (Sprain Brook State Parkway) in Mount Pleasant.
Lastly, as of 6:47 a.m., delays and stop-and-go traffic are reported on I-87 southbound from after Exit 14 (Spring Valley, Route 59) to before Exit 12 (West Nyack, Route 303) in Clarkstown.
Commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly and consider alternate routes to avoid delays.
