Jennifer Lugo,Ashton Patterson Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified two individuals who lost their lives in a fire in a section of Monroe County. The fire erupted at the Wander Inn Bar & Grill located on South Cortland Street in East Stroudsburg shortly before 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
Above the establishment were three apartment units, and local residents collaborated with a police officer to assist in the rescue of two individuals from the inferno. “We were all there urging her to jump. She threw her purse and cell phone out the window, but our primary concern was ensuring her safe escape. She then leaped out, landed on the air conditioning unit, and we managed to catch her as she stumbled,” recounted neighbor A.J. Robinson.
The Monroe County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that Jennifer Lugo, aged 34, and Ashton Patterson, aged 42, were discovered deceased within the premises. Three residents sustained injuries, and several firefighters received treatment for minor wounds.
The Stroud Area Regional Police, along with the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal, are currently investigating the cause of this tragic fire.
