HARVEYS LAKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A popular family-owned business in the Back Mountain is once again opening its doors to kick off a new season.
From crispy golden haddock baskets to homemade haluski, customers say it would not be lent without a trip to Jones’s Potato Pancakes in Harvey’s Lake.
They’ve been around for 70 years.
Many say their opening is a sign of the unofficial start of spring.
“Pancakes and pierogies are what we’re famous for. Lent we started last year with the fish fry, we do some shrimp specials and then the fish baskets this time of the year seem to have been going over pretty good,” Jones’ Potato Pancakes Third Generation Owner Chris Jones said.
“My fiancé and I just came down for some potato pancakes, pierogies, and such. They’re really good. Haven’t had them in a while, but they are they’re really good,” Mountain Top resident Tyler Bartnick said.
Their season runs through the last Sunday of October.
