WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say a man was arrested after allegedly robbing a Wilkes-Barre Township business with a gun.
Wilkes-Barre Township Police said they were called on Tuesday shortly after 8:00 p.m. to a robbery at the Dollar Tree found at the East End Center.
Police say the suspect, identified as Brandon Warren-Jackson, entered the store brandishing a firearm and demanded money from the cashier.
Wearing a face mask and a black “Big Dawgs” hoodie, the suspect allegedly threatened the victim, pressed the firearm to his head, and stole the victim’s personal items, including their AirPods and iPhone 14, according to police.
Authorities say the suspect fled the scene on foot.
Quickly responding to the incident with K9 assistance, police said they tracked the suspect’s trail to a wooded area near Red Lobster, where they found the hoodie and other dumped items from the robbery, including the firearm.
During their investigation, officers were led to the Wilkes-Barre Inn on Kidder Street, where they identified the suspect and found him wearing some of the same clothing worn during the alleged robbery.
Warren-Jackson was taken into custody without incident, police stated.
Warren-Jackson was arraigned with bail set to $250,000 and taken to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
