New York, NY — On Friday at approximately 8:54 AM, police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired at 519 East 88th Street within the 19th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers found a 45-year-old female with gunshot wounds to the head and lower back and a 65-year-old female with a gunshot wound to the head.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) pronounced the 65-year-old female deceased at the scene. The 45-year-old female was transported to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in critical condition, where she was later pronounced deceased.
The investigation revealed that the 65-year-old female shot the 45-year-old female before inflicting a fatal gunshot wound to herself. The families of the deceased have been notified.
The deceased have been identified as Marisa Galloway, 45, of 445 East 86th Street, New York, NY, and Kathleen Leigh, 65, of 1722 North Park Avenue, Chicago, IL.
