Salisbury, MD — A Delaware teacher is celebrating a $50,000 win after purchasing a lucky Money Rush scratch-off ticket during a rare visit to Salisbury.
The winner, who doesn’t often buy Lottery tickets, explained that she found herself in Salisbury to meet an old friend on their way to the beach. Arriving early, she decided to fill up her car at Riverside Market on 519 Riverside Drive. While inside to grab a drink, she felt a sudden urge to buy a Lottery ticket.
Recalling advice from a coworker about new scratch games offering better chances of winning, she asked the clerk for the newest ticket, which turned out to be the $10 Money Rush game, launched just a few days earlier on July 22.
Despite the random distribution of winning tickets throughout the game’s run, the Delaware teacher’s strategy paid off, as she revealed a second-tier $50,000 prize.
“I believe you,” she said to Lottery officials about the randomness of winning tickets. “But this plan has worked for me, so I’ll stick with it.”
With all nine $100,000 top prizes still available, as well as 10 more $50,000 second-tier prizes and 29 $10,000 prizes, Money Rush continues to offer exciting opportunities for players.
Next time you’re in Salisbury, consider stopping by Riverside Market. You never know if Lottery luck might be waiting for you there.
