Anthony Jerome Sharpe Jr Obituary, Death; – An 18-year-old individual has lost his life following a shooting incident that occurred at a playground in Southwest Philadelphia on Monday night.
Philadelphia Police reported that officers were dispatched to the DeRetis Playground located at 5600 Grays Avenue shortly before 9 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was later identified as Anthony Jerome Sharpe Jr., a resident of Smyrna, Delaware. He was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
As of Tuesday evening, the motive for the shooting remains unclear, and no arrests have been made by the police. In line with the protocol for all homicides in Philadelphia, a reward of $20,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and subsequent conviction.
