Hockessin, DE – Delaware State Police have apprehended 24-year-old Brandon Robertaccio of Hockessin for his involvement in an attempted robbery at a local Shell gas station.
The incident occurred on July 23, 2024, at around 11:49 AM at the Shell gas station located at 7441 Lancaster Pike. According to police reports, a white male suspect approached the checkout counter, where a cashier and two children were present. The suspect, concealing his hand under his shirt to imply he was armed, demanded money from the register. When the cashier refused to comply, the suspect fled the scene in a gray SUV without any proceeds.
Troop 2 Robbery Detectives quickly identified the suspect’s vehicle as a gray GMC Terrain with Delaware registration. Following this lead, detectives located the SUV and Robertaccio near the vehicle’s registered address. He was arrested without incident and transported to Troop 2 for processing.
Robertaccio has been charged with attempted robbery in the first degree and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and is currently held at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $22,000 cash bond.
