Trenton, NJ — One lucky New Jersey Lottery player has won a $4,000,000 prize in the latest Mega Millions drawing.
On Tuesday, July 23, a second-tier prizewinning ticket matched five of the five white balls drawn, winning the $1,000,000 prize. The ticket was purchased with the Megaplier option, multiplying the prize to $4,000,000. The winning ticket was sold at Laurel Market, located at 257 Laurel Ave., Hazlet Township in Monmouth County.
In addition to the $4,000,000 prize, 28 players matched four of the five white balls drawn, each winning $500. Five of those tickets included the Megaplier option, increasing their prizes to $2,000. Furthermore, 30,963 New Jersey players won a total of $174,674 in prizes ranging from $2 to $800. The winning numbers for the July 23 drawing were 03, 09, 14, 26, and 51, with the Gold Mega Ball being 21 and the Megaplier Multiplier being 04.
The Mega Millions jackpot has now rolled to $306 million for the next drawing, which will be held on Friday, July 26, at 11:00 p.m. All New Jersey Lottery Mega Millions tickets must be purchased before 10:45 p.m. to participate in the drawing.
Mega Millions tickets are available for just two dollars, and players can opt to add the Megaplier feature for an additional dollar per play to increase non-jackpot winnings up to five times. Mega Millions tickets are sold in 46 participating jurisdictions, with drawings held every Tuesday and Friday.
