LINDEN, NJ – The Linden Police Youth Academy Class #6 celebrated their graduation on Friday, marking the culmination of a week of intensive training. The department expressed immense pride in the growth and potential of these young graduates, anticipating their future contributions to the community.
This year’s program success was made possible through the support of various community partners, including elected officials, local businesses, and emergency services. Their collective efforts underscore the community’s investment in the development of its youth.
Significant contributors included Mayor Derek Armstead, Council President Michele Yamakaitis, and City Council members. Also acknowledged were the Linden P.B.A. Local #42, Linden Police Superior Officers Association, and several local departments and businesses such as the Linden Fire Department, Linden Recreation, and Linden Buildings & Grounds.
Contributions also came from Columbia Bank of Linden, the Columbia Bank Foundation, Shoprite of Linden, Villani Bus Co., and Councilman Ralph Strano. The program also benefited from the support of the Linden Airport staff, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Union County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit, Union County Police Department, Union County SWAT, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the New Jersey State Police Aviation Unit. Their generosity played a pivotal role in the program’s execution and success.
