STAFFORD, VA—A shooting incident stemming from a road rage altercation is currently under investigation by the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. The event occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning on Warrenton Road, near the intersection with Village Parkway.
Deputy C.A. Osborne was dispatched to the scene after reports came in at approximately 12:13 a.m. on July 21. According to the victim, his vehicle was struck by gunfire while he was driving home. Fortunately, he was not injured in the incident.
The sequence of events began as the victim was driving along Warrenton Road between Plantation Drive and Village Parkway. He encountered a motorcyclist and shifted into the left lane, inadvertently causing the motorcyclist to veer onto the shoulder. Both stopped at a red light where the motorcyclist dismounted and approached the victim’s vehicle. However, as the light turned green and the victim drove away, he heard two gunshots and later discovered bullet holes in his vehicle.
Detectives have launched a full investigation and are seeking a motorcyclist described as wearing a black and white jacket and a white helmet, riding a sports bike. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective K.A. Lawrence at 540-658-4450.
