MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A tragic collision on North Frederick Avenue has claimed the life of a Germantown man, prompting an investigation by the Montgomery County Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU). The incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, July 20, 2024, near Travis Avenue.
Responding to the collision report at approximately 10:12 PM, Gaithersburg Police officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel found that a black 2022 Ram 1500 pickup truck and a black 2016 Nissan Altima, both traveling northbound, had collided. The driver of the Nissan, identified as Isacc Akomanyi of Germantown, was critically injured and later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Additionally, an occupant from the Nissan and the driver of the Ram were transported to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
