Some Jefferson County Public Schools students are graduating with full-time jobs already lined up.
On Friday morning, a signing ceremony honored seniors at Fairdale High School. They’re in the Diesel Tech Pathway and signed contracts with employers for jobs after graduation.
“My first day of work is the Monday after we graduate, and I’ll be working full time then,” said Waylon Tingle, a senior at Fairdale. “… It was awesome to come back here, learn a skill, kind of pretty much a recess period, because it was different from regular school.”
The students’ families and several companies attended the ceremony Friday to honor the hard work of the students.
