Albert Anton Obituary, Death; – A man was fatally shot inside a prominent bar in Manhattan early Saturday morning, according to police reports. The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Albert Anton, who was shot at Tom and Jerry’s bar located on Elizabeth Street in NoHo. Tom and Jerry’s Bar gained recognition for its appearance in the HBO series “Girls.”
Authorities informed FOX 5 that they received a 911 call reporting a shooting at 288 Elizabeth Street around 3:22 a.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival, officers discovered Anton with two gunshot wounds to the chest and one to the abdomen.
He was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Sources have indicated to FOX 5 that Anton was employed part-time as a security guard at the bar, although he was not on duty at the time of the incident. It has been reported that the assailant fired at him from the street outside.
The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing, and the motive remains unclear.
