GREENVILLE, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested 47-year-old John Fester from West Chester, Pennsylvania, on charges of vehicular assault and driving under the influence (DUI). The arrest followed an investigation into a two-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday night.
On July 16, at around 11:35 p.m., troopers were called to the scene of the crash at the intersection of Montchanin Road and Buck Road in Greenville. They found two pickup trucks—a black Toyota Tundra and a red Chevrolet Silverado—both with significant front end damage.
The investigation revealed that Fester, driving the Toyota southbound on Montchanin Road, veered into the northbound lane and collided with the Chevrolet. The impact seriously injured the 22-year-old driver of the Chevrolet, who was later transported to a local hospital.
Evidence of alcohol consumption was apparent at the scene, with multiple beer cans found near the Toyota. Troopers noted signs of impairment in Fester, including the smell of alcohol on his breath. He was taken into custody and later arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11. Fester was released after posting a $5,000 cash bond.
