WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— We now know who will serve as grand marshal of this year’s Wilkes-Barre Saint Patrick’s Parade.
Mayor George Brown announced Friday morning Captain Mike Boyle will serve as the city’s St. Patrick’s Parade grand marshal.
Boyle has been with the Wilkes-Barre Police Department for the last 23 years.
Fun fact, his grandmother was the parade’s grand marshal in 1998.
“To sum it up, it’s a great honor to me again to represent the city of Wilkes-Barre Police Department and my family, with my grandmother having been a previous grand marshal, that’s the cherry on top,” said Captain Boyle.
The 45 annual Wilkes-Barre Saint Patrick’s Parade will take place Sunday afternoon, March 9 stepping off at the intersection of South and Main Streets.
