WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a bid to capture a suspect seen on video, the D.C. Metro Police Department is reaching out for public assistance regarding a stabbing incident from Tuesday, June 25, 2024, in Northeast Washington.
The assault unfolded at approximately 1:15 p.m. in the 800 block of H Street, with surveillance cameras documenting the suspect’s violent confrontation involving a knife before escaping the scene.
The MPD urges anyone with information about the suspect to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or to send a text to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for this violent crime.
The nature of the attack is being investigated as potentially motivated by hate or bias, though this designation may evolve as more information becomes available. The Special Liaison Branch is also involved in the investigation.
