SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Saint Patrick’s Parade Association of Lackawanna County is hosting its Firkin Friday event to kick off the official Parade Day countdown.
The event runs from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cooper’s Seafood House at 701 N. Washington Ave. The firkin will be tapped at 5:00 p.m.
According to visitnepa.org, the firkin is a special cask containing a locally made beer.
It is free admission and all proceeds from every pint sold from the charity cask will go directly to supporting Scranton’s 2025 Saint Patrick’s Parade.
The Parade is scheduled for Saturday, March 8th.
Parade day starts with a Mass at St. Peter’s Cathedral at 10:00 a.m., the Brian Kelly Memorial foot race kicks off at 11:00 a.m., and the parade steps off at 11:45 a.m. on Wyoming Avenue near Mulberry Street.
