Messiah Washington Obituary, Death; – A man from Tacoma who was tragically shot and killed over the weekend has been named by the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office. The victim, identified as 18-year-old Messiah Washington, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds on Saturday in the vicinity of the 1100 block of South L Street, as stated in a news release from the office.
The cause of death has been classified as homicide. Law enforcement officials responded to the scene at 9 p.m. after receiving numerous 911 calls reporting gunfire in the area. Officers initiated life-saving efforts until Tacoma Fire personnel arrived to take over. Washington was pronounced dead at the scene, as previously reported by The News Tribune. As of Thursday, no arrests had been made, according to a spokesperson for the Tacoma Police Department.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the shooting or any video footage from the scene to reach out to the Police Department.
