WEST WYOMING, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The victim has been identified in a deadly fire in West Wyoming Wednesday evening.
Chief Turner tells 28/22 News that 79-year-old John Miller Jr. died in Wednesday’s fire after neighbors were not able to save him.


Around 5:30 p.m. a fire broke out in a small apartment behind a garage of a home in the the 500 block of West 8th Street in West Wyoming.
When firefighters arrived on the scene they realized Miller, who lived in the apartment, did not make it out despite efforts from others to rescue him.
Crews were able to get control of the fire and the cause appears to be accidental.
