Ocean County Man Charged with Hindering Apprehension and Desecration of Human Remains
Toms River, NJ – Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced charges against Jared Krysiak, 34, of Brick Township, for hindering apprehension and desecration of human remains. These charges relate to incidents that took place in Toms River and Jackson Townships on or about July 3, 2024.
Krysiak has not yet been apprehended and is currently considered a fugitive. An arrest warrant has been issued, and his information has been entered into the National Crime Information Center database.
This case it tied to another murder case involving Maxwell Johnston, a gunman who murdered a mother in cold blood in Manchester Township. Last week, after a three hour armed stand off with police, Johnston killed himself. During their investigation, police learned the owner of the home where Johnston was hiding was killed, dismembered and his body parts were discarded in plastic bags at a home in Jackson Township.
Throughout the affair, Billhimer said there was no threat to the public, despite two dead bodies, four co-conspirators, and one fugitive on the run.
