Kevin Lamont Jones ARRESTED; – A suspect has been apprehended in connection with the stabbing of two individuals, resulting in the death of one woman, early Wednesday morning in downtown Bakersfield.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, on February 26th, 2025, at approximately 4:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of an assault involving a deadly weapon in the 1900 block of H Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man and a woman both suffering from stab injuries.
The woman was declared deceased at the scene, while the man was transported to Kern Medical, where he is currently reported to be in stable condition. Authorities identified the suspect as Kevin Lamont Jones, who was located nearby and subsequently taken into custody.
Jones has been booked into the Kern County Jail on charges of murder and attempted murder. The police are urging anyone with relevant information to contact the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111.
