STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC) made a stop at the Pocono Family YMCA on Wednesday for their statewide tour, “PHRC on the road: Building a Beloved Community.”
The goal is to address issues and concerns like disability discrimination, racial and gender equality, and much more.
At Wednesday’s listening session, they presented a community framework and an overview of the services and programs offered.
They also opened it up for the community to ask questions.
“We’re always available for people to learn more about the PHRC, to file complaints but beyond just filing complaints is giving people information so they can make an informed decision and then reach consensus within themselves as well as their communities, that they have the right to live, work, free of any form of unlawful discrimination,” PHRC Executive Director Chad Dion Lassiter.
The PHRC urges anyone who has experienced acts of discrimination or hate to file a complaint by calling (717)787-4410.
