The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. when partygoers were leaving the venue after the celebration. According to the San Antonio Police Department, a fight broke out between the party patrons and security officers. During the altercation, a security guard was assaulted, and in the heat of the moment, one of the guards discharged their duty weapon into the ground. The gunfire resulted in shrapnel hitting an individual, causing injury.
