Michael Krol Midlothian, VA Death and Obituary – Michael Robert Krol, Esq., a distinguished lawyer and litigator, tragically passed away, leaving behind a legacy of legal excellence, compassion, and personal devotion. Known for his sharp legal mind and deep humanity, Michael’s journey from his early life in Michigan to becoming the founder of Maury and Krol, PLLC, in Midlothian, VA, exemplifies the power of determination, integrity, and love for others.
Born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, and raised in Macomb Township, Michael exhibited an exceptional character even in his youth. His intelligence, coupled with his kindness and empathy, made him stand out among his peers. His commitment to excellence was evident in his academic journey. Michael attended Lutheran North High School, where he played soccer and forged lifelong friendships. After his family relocated to Holland, Michigan, he was part of the inaugural graduating class at Black River High School.
Michael’s educational pursuits led him to Kalamazoo Valley Community College before earning his bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University. His ambition did not stop there; he went on to earn his law degree (JD) from the prestigious William & Mary Law School in Williamsburg, Virginia. Throughout his academic career, Michael was known for his tenacity and dedication. Even during his time in law school, he juggled two jobs while raising two children, demonstrating the strength of his work ethic and unwavering focus on his goals.
After graduating from law school, Michael started his legal career as a plaintiff’s attorney. His skill, expertise, and ability to connect with clients on a personal level quickly earned him recognition in the legal community. Within a decade, Michael made the bold decision to launch his own law firm. In partnership with Robert Maury, Esq., he co-founded Maury and Krol, PLLC. This was a bold step, especially considering the personal risks involved, including raising four children and the uncertainties that come with starting a business. However, Michael’s vision, leadership, and courage paid off. Under his stewardship, the firm thrived and became well-regarded not only for its legal acumen but also for its warm, supportive workplace culture. Michael’s colleagues and clients alike admired his legal brilliance and his ability to connect with people, navigating complex legal issues with both intelligence and empathy.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Michael was a devoted father, raising his four children with love, care, and a deep sense of responsibility. He shared his love for the outdoors, his quirky sense of humor, and his strong values with them. His children, Haley, Phoenix, Brennan, and Everett, were the center of his world, and he imparted life lessons that will stay with them forever. Whether it was long-distance running with Haley, offering unwavering support to Phoenix, coaching Brennan’s football team, or sharing unforgettable hikes with Everett, Michael’s love and guidance were evident in every moment he spent with them.
Michael is survived by his beloved children, his parents Robert and Nancy, his sister Michelle, his grandmother Marilyn LaForest, and his loyal dog, “Princess” Gracie. His legacy will live on through his family, friends, colleagues, and the many lives he touched throughout his life.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Michael’s honor on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Maury and Krol, PLLC, from 2 PM to 6 PM. The event, designed to reflect Michael’s fun-loving and easygoing nature, invites friends and family to attend casually dressed and to bring their own beanie, honoring Michael’s playful spirit.
Michael Robert Krol will be remembered not only as a brilliant lawyer but also as a loving father, devoted friend, and someone who truly made a difference in the lives of those around him. His life’s work and personal dedication will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
