LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Nelson County Schools is planning for an NTI Monday due to projected flooding.
In an email to families and staff, the school district said it’s working in close coordination with local emergency management officials to assess the most affected areas. Some roadways around the county are impassable and conditions are expected to get worse.
“Due to the timing of the event, we are working with school principals and staff to provide additional layers of time and flexibility in preparation for Monday,” Nelson County Schools said in an email. “Local schools will communicate with families by the late afternoon tomorrow. We expect potential modifications to start times.”
April 7 is a scheduled make-up day from a previous weather-related event.
“We understand that a NTI day following spring break is far from ideal and this is not a step we take lightly,” Nelson County Schools said. “We make the decision out of necessity to prioritize safety and ensure continued learning for students and staff.”
