LONG POND, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Seven people are facing various charges after being arrested during a party that turned deadly at an Airbnb.
According to Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso, the following seven suspects are charged with various offenses, including narcotics, burglary, and hindering the apprehension;
- Angel Gustavo Paez Sequera
- Heymar Del Ciblo Padilla Moyetones
- Isaac Ozuna Caravallo
- Johangel Farfan Perez
- Yanny Scarlet Suarez Rodriguez
- Fraimar Vita Grimar
- Victor Caldera Malpica
District Attorney Mancuso says all seven have been charged after evidence was found at the scene of a shooting investigation on January 12 that killed Lionardo Hernandez Zarata.
The Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department stated that officers were called for two people with gunshot wounds at a house on Clover Road in Long Pond. Once on the scene, detectives say Hernandez Zarata was found dead inside the home along with two other men with gunshot wounds, identified as Johangel Farfan and Isaat Ozuna.
Through further investigation, police said they learned the home was rented out for a party and multiple partygoers were in and out of the house. At some point during the evening, an argument happened that led to a gunfight.
Police say they responded to a house burglarized by people at the party. Officers followed footprints in the snow and found a second house the suspects tried to burglarize. They say they continued searching and found a third home where the suspects were hiding.
Investigators said that Vita-Grimar was previously involved in a shooting that involved an Airbnb rental in Collbough Township.
Several suspects entered guilty pleas, and all returned to the correctional facility where they have ICE Detainers lodged against them, the DA stated. All suspects are from Venezuela.
DA Mancuso noted that none of these suspects are being charged in connection to the homicide investigation.
