LAKE HARMONY, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A ski resort in the Poconos is celebrating the end of winter in a unique way.
Big Boulder in Lake Harmony held its Annual Beach Party and Pond Skim on Saturday.
Hundreds of participants are there to enjoy cornhole tournaments, a rail jam, scavenger hunt, and more.
Organizers say it’s a fun way to send off another great winter on the slopes of Jack Frost Big Boulder.
This is the last major event of the season.
“Got a couple buddies and whatnot to come out here, and we don’t regret it one bit. We’re going to be here for the day, have a great time afterwards, and it’s going to be a great time,” said New York City resident Nick Neeser.
“The weather is just absolutely amazing out there, the slopes are really good, so just a really fun day to kind of finish off the season,” Jack Frost Big Boulder General Manager Tony Santora explained.
A Pond Skim Under the Lights began at 6:00 p.m., where skiers and snowboarders dress up and race across a frozen pond to see who can make it across.
Jack Frost Big Boulder will remain open for the season as long as possible.
