Fatal North Charleston shooting death of Dominike Williams – Obituary
A 30-year-old man lost his life in a shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon in North Charleston, according to authorities.
The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Dominike Williams was pronounced dead at 1:13 p.m. after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.
North Charleston police officers responded to reports of a shooting just before 1:30 p.m. at The Gates mobile home park, located in the 8400 block of Preakness Drive. Upon arrival, officers found Williams inside a residence suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency responders transported him to Trident Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities identified 29-year-old Joshua Thomas Smalls as the suspect. He has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The North Charleston Police Department, along with the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office, continues to investigate the case.
