Fatal Avondale motorcycle crash death of David Litchfield – Obituary
David Litchfield, a 67-year-old motorcyclist, lost his life in a tragic accident on Thursday morning after being run over by a semi-truck on Interstate 10 near Avondale Boulevard.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported that the crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. during heavy rush-hour traffic. According to officials, Litchfield was riding westbound on I-10 when he rear-ended a slowing vehicle. The impact threw him from his motorcycle, and he was subsequently struck by a semi-truck.
Emergency responders pronounced Litchfield dead at the scene. The accident led to significant traffic disruptions, with closures affecting the interchange from southbound Loop 101 to westbound I-10, as well as westbound I-10 near Avondale Boulevard and the 107th Avenue on-ramp. All affected roads have since reopened.
