KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Dress for Success Luzerne county kicked off “International Women’s Day” celebrations, one day early, in Kingston with their annual luncheon.
The honorable Stefanie Salavantis, the first female president judge in Luzerne County’s 250 year history, was the guest of honor.
She was interviewed in a “Fireside Chat” hosted by our very own Rachel Malak.
At the JCC, guests enjoyed their meals, participated in the basket raffle, and bought “Women of Action” t shirts — all to support “Dress For Success”.
The president judge spoke about how she works to empower the women of Luzerne County.
“We need to support each other. I think that is the most important message today. Women need to stand up and support each other, and that’s where we will make a difference for each other,” voiced Salavantis.
International Women’s Day is Saturday, March 8.
The sold-out event highlighted this year’s theme “Accelerate Action.”
