NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — One person was treated for a minor injury after a small plane crashed at Grand Strand Airport Thursday morning in North Myrtle Beach, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
A Cirrus SR22 crashed at about 11:45 a.m., the FAA said. Only the pilot was onboard. FAA data shows the plane is a fixed wing single-engine and registered out of Charlotte, North Carolina.
The plane took off from Concord-Padgett Regional Airport in Concord, North Carolina, at 10:51 a.m. and arrived at Grand Strand Airport at 11:41 a.m., data from FlightAware shows. It is registered to SOAR47 LLC.
Fire officials and police units remain at the scene, but the incident is under control and there are no hazards, according to North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue. Crews will stay at the scene until Myrtle Beach International Airport officials arrive.
