BRODHEADSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Tuesday is the day before Lenten Season begins, also known as Fat Tuesday.
Kinsley’s Shop-Rite in Brodheadsville has been hard at work preparing their massive production of fastnacht.
The bakery team makes over 7,000 fastnacht doughnuts over the course of 24 hours.
“We start frying at 5 o’clock at night. We go all through the night and all into today till about 5 o’clock tonight. So it takes our whole bakery team to participate and get all these donuts out for our customers,” said Bakery Manager Kathy Lockwitch.
If you have not picked up your fastnacht yet, the store is open until 10:00 p.m. Tuesday night.
