Carolyn Ensley Obituary, Death; – The Mesa County Coroner’s Office released a statement on Monday indicating that the examination of the woman who was declared deceased following a collision with a teenage driver near Central High School has been completed.
Carolyn Ensley, a 66-year-old resident of Grand Junction, lost her life after being struck by a truck while in her wheelchair at the intersection of Warrior Way and E 1/2 Road. The coroner’s office confirmed that her death resulted from injuries sustained in the incident. According to law enforcement, the truck was driven by a teenage boy traveling northbound on Warrior Way.
In response to the accident, the Colorado State Patrol closed the intersection on Monday morning to conduct an investigation. District 51 initiated a reunification process, allowing Central High School students to return home with their parents and guardians following the incident.
The coroner’s office stated that the Colorado State Patrol is managing the ongoing investigation.
